Not recommended for synthetic fibers (fabrics containing more than 35% polyester, acrylic or acetate). Instead, use Rit DyeMore synthetic fiber dye. Not recommended for fabrics with a rubber backing or labeled cold water wash or dry clean only. May not be effective on bleach damaged fabrics. If in doubt, test dye a swatch first. Package color reflects approximate results when dyeing white or off-white 100% cotton. Preparation: Pre-wash fabric to remove any finishes or stains. For every pound of dry fabric (i.e. 2 adult large t-shirts), use 1/2 bottle (4 ozs.) of dye with 3 gallons of the hottest water safe for fabric. Dye bath must have enough water for fabric to move freely. To achieve a darker or more intense color, double dye quantity If dyeing to a lighter or different color, use Rit color remover before dyeing to reduce existing color
